CJK SAID I was an new CSM employee for a Indiana stotrd that went pretty well on opening weekend. We took in around 345K. I went in one night. Did my job. Next day, lady goes into a diabetic coma. 2nd CSM doesn't show up. Manager called to front for alert due to the situation. He walks away and doesn't care to help in the situation.
I'm approached next day because I found an extra money bag, that a cashier left at a register, not on my shift, but lost in the last schedule of the day (mismanaged by the day shift)and then I'm told, (I felt good to recover the money, and turn it into the cash office)I was asked about mishandling the funds.
Mgmt @store didn't care about anything in the store except how much money they could take in.
At that point, I knew the store didnt care how much the employee did regardless, mgmt cared more about the impact of ROI(return on investment). I resigned due to poor judgment handled by mgmt and I was falsely accused of not caring about their money. When it was lost and someone dishonestly could've walked with that cash. Walmart doesn't care enough to pay the cashier the dignity amount of money to make a living.
Here's another story, but not related to me. When Mgmt screws up and the store looses money due to right off's, the one caught excessing the rightoff's, gets promoted and transferred to another store. I heard that from another store from a friend. I had to laugh.
Also, how stupid can mgmt be when they leave their bonus lists in the back room based income recieved per quarter for mgmt. Then their paying the stock and cash person est.$6.00/per to oversee what should be rung up.

I UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT CSM IS SAYING. I AM A CSM TOO AND THAT GOES ON AT OUR STORE TOO. WE HAVE CERTAIN CSM'S THAT DON'T DO THEIR JOBS AND WE HAVE TO PICK UP THE SLACK. YOU GO TO MANAGEMENT ABOUT IT SOME OF THEM THINKS THAT WE ARE PICKING ON HER. THE STORE MANAGER THINKS SHE WALKS ON WATER AND CAN'T DO NO WRONG. AND THEY ARE CUTTING SOME OF OUR HOURS BUT SHE GETS HER HOURS.
i work at store# 5482 this sore is the store from hell. the store manager is very unprofessional he does not care about the employees the management team is so imature they gossip about associates to other associates this got to be the worst store in ga
what do you think all of you are doing?gossiping!why noty try and make your walmart a better place and stop the bs.i have been here for almost 15 yearsand have been a dm for 9 years now a ms.ya i liked having the 7-4 weekends off but deal with it.cry babies .you don't think everybody would like to have that schudle.hours are not bad 2 weekends off then 1 sat then sat and sun.work no later than 8.bfd grow up.
To the one who is claiming to be a dm/now an ms: You are the proof of what CSMs are saying about the mismanagement of staff at stores. You have a disproportionately inflated opinion of yourself, and you OBVIOUSLY look down on those who work below your level, IF you actually are in upper management. It blows my mind how far people can get in Wal-Mart, when they cannot construct a proper sentence. You are the one who needs to grow up. And, YOU are the reason people of quality, like I, leave Wal-Mart.
I feel bad for you all. My store is amazing. I have worked for many other retailers, and by far, my Wal-Mart store is the best. The managers all know your name, they all say hello. The head manager is always out wandering the floor talking to customer and employees. Not every store is horrible. This store is a small store atmosphere, but very productive and can handle the large amount of people we have on a day to day basis.
It's really sad to read about all of the horror stories associated with working at Wal-Mart. I work overnights at a Kohl's in New Jersey and even started a blog about what it's like working there. Check it out at http://workingatkohls.blogspot.com please.
Im the merchandising supervisor of cosmetics and absolutely love it! maybe some stores are bad but mine is not at all i mean i dont want to stay there forever but for right now its good!
I'M CURRENTLY A MERCHANDISING SUPERVISOR FOR STORE #3319. SOMETIMES ITS ROUGH AS HELL BEING IN CHARGE OF MORE THAN ONE DEPARTMENT. I'VE FOUND OUT SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE IS THE KEY TO AMY CHANGES BEING MADE TO WHATEVER HOME OFFICE IS TO MAKE SURE YOU GIVE BOTH NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE FEEDBACK. SOME SUPERVISORS FEEL IF THAY ACT LIKE SOMETHING WORKS,THEN IT MAKES THEM LOOK GOOD. WHAT IT DOES IS OVER WORK YOUR ASSOCIATES,AND SENDS A FALSE SENSE OF SOMETHING BEING ACCOMPLISHED. LIKE THE NEW SCORE CARD,MY DEPARTMENT HASNT YET BEEN EFFECTED,BUT I HAVE SOME CONCERNS,SO I INFORMED MY STORE MANAGER,AND AN ASSISTANT,AND ALSO MY ZMS WHAT MY CONCERNS WERE,WHAT WERE WE AS A TEAM GOING TO DO TO FIX THESE CONCERNS. SO LIKE I SAID HONESTY,AND FEEDBACK IS THE KEY!!!!
Yes exactly, in some moments I can bruit about that I approve of with you, but you may be inasmuch as other options. to the article there is even now a without question as you did in the downgrade publication of this beg www.google.com/ie?as_q=fraps video/screen capture software 2.9.2 ? I noticed the axiom you have in the offing not used. Or you use the dreary methods of helping of the resource. I have a week and do necheg
I wish I could say things are getting better. However, when I began to work at Walmart a year ago, I was a measly Photo Lab associate. Within six months, they had merged Photo, Wireless, and Electronics into one department with one supervisor. Then, after I accepted the merchandise supervisor position, they merged Toys and Electronics to having one supervisor. It's too much.
The zms's are a joke! i am the grocery Departmant manager i have 5 departments 1,82,92,95,96 my zms is a lovely lady but she's 68 and knows nothinglike what i do.the fresh area's zms is a retard thats the best fitting name i refuse to take any direction from her and management know this she has been with walmart 9 yrs and i have more know how and job skills in my little finger than she has in her whole body and i have only worked for walmart for 2 and a half yrs.
I work for a Walmart store in Oregon and I love it! It's been a great place for me, there is great advancement potential and at my store and a previous Wm I was at the management knows all the associates, tells us when we are doing a good job and that they appreciate what we do. I have never worked somewhere I felt so happy to go to daily. I know there are stores with poor management and low morale but one thing I have done and it has only made the store better is to ask management questions, give suggestions on making the store or my dept. better and they are always open to new ideas. And the open door policy has been very useful at times when I have had to use it. I am not saying that everyone has a good store or that everyone is a right fit for WM but all the stores are not bad, there are good stores and good management out there. You can call me a suck up but all I do is my job without complaining, always smile for my customers, and keep an open line of communication with my supervisors and managers. I hope that those of you with bad experiences are able to find a place to work where you enjoy going to everyday and don't let a few bad stores ruin your thoughts on a whole corporation.
